Illegal factory owners face land forfeiture if they don’t register

State executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim has highlighted Selangor’s intensified efforts to legalise unauthorised factories, which includes forfeiting the land of non-compliant factory owners.

During a recent town hall in Kajang, Ng said that with 30 per cent of 6,690 illegal factories in the state now registered, the Selangor government is targeting 80 per cent compliance by 2027 through incentives and stricter enforcement.

He said the state projects RM150 million in collected premiums, even after a 30 per cent discount, from factories that undergo the legalisation process.
